Hedge Ilex Aquifolium – English Holly

Ilex aquifolium or English Holly is a medium to tall, evergreen, hardy shrub with very dark green, glossy, almost spineless leaves and brilliant red berries that mature from rather insignificant, greenish/white flowers. She a slow-growing shrub to large tree that grows naturally in a pyramid shape but can be trimmed to make a very useful barrier hedge.
