Shrubs Japanese Star Jasmine

Trachelospermum asiaticum is commonly known as Japanese Star Jasmine.

It’s an evergreen twining climber with a dense growth habit and glossy, rich green foliage. The sweetly scented, star-shaped white flowers appear during summer. As the flowers age, the colour deepens to lemon-yellow. 

Trachelospermum asiaticum is ideal for growing over trellis, walls, pergolas and it makes a really lovely scented addition a seating area or window.

Climbing jasmine as a ground cover is a more unusual way to display this star. It certainly brightens an embankment with those evergreen leaves and clambering mass of white twinkling stars.

• What to use me for: Send me up a wall, fence, pergola or tree, or go your own way and use me as twinkly ground cover.

• I grow to: I’ll reach 3 metres high but can get to 6 metres if you look after me well.

• Where to place me:  I like full sun and part shade

• How far to space me:  Give me 2-3 metres of room

• Soil Conditions: I like fertile, well-drained soil.
