“Ooo, look an orchid! They’re lovely, but I can’t keep them alive.”
But don’t be nervous. Spathoglottis Lemon Kiss is known as a ‘garden orchid’ which are the easy types to grow and a great way to start out a collection.
Lemon Kiss has slender almost striped green leaves with bunches of lemon-yellow flowers clustered on spikes. This pretty thing will bloom all year round to brighten your home and your garden without making a fuss and refusing to flower.
Spathoglottis thrive if you keep their potting mix consistently moist and leave them in a nice bright spot indoors.
Water Lemon Kiss when the potting mix is starting to dry, but don’t leave her in a pot of water for days as this will rot the roots. Just soak her in water for 30 minutes and let the pot drain before returning her to the bright spot. It’s simple – but if you need some more help read our blog on caring for houseplants.
